A Stain on the World of Music. Welcome to Guitar Center, my name is GC employee 3217. I'm an aging musician who thinks I know everything about instruments, but I can't explain how impedance works. Would you like to try our new shipment of garbage guitars? Don't worry, i'll tell you whatever you want to make this sale, doesn't matter if it's true or not. What's that? You found one decent vintage amp? Well, it's been trashed by at least 200 customers who mess with it, not to mention the fact that we jacked all the prices up to a ridiculous level...................

but seriously, go to Jackson Music, Kenmore Music, Allentown Music, etc. Support local music stores and ignore this B.S. corporate, music-killing abomination.

Just as the electric guitar started gaining popularity in the '60s, so did this once-modest, now monumental music store chain, which has grown to become the country's largest retailer of musical instruments. The store is packed with merchandise hanging overhead, crowding the aisles and monopolizing the walls. Contrary to its name, it's not just about acoustic and electric guitars; it also serves the needs of keyboardists, drummers and horn players.
