My mom and I had lunch here and it was truly the best ruben I'd ever tasted,,,tender, juicy cornbeef thinly sliced....grilled to perfection. My mom enjoyed her lunch as well, the portion was great.

Shanghai Red's was sugested by friends to have a "grand affair". We were shown the ball rooms and they were absolutely beautiful. Trick or Treat ? Both. The Trick is getting there. The Treat is "when" you get there.

• Pros: The Ball Rooms ! The View ! The Meals !
• Cons: direction/location... it's a hidden treasure.

I will not go to eat at this place ever again !

My wife and I went to Shanghai Reds for dinner on 7/19/08 and just to begin with we felt unwelcomed and it just seemed to go down hill . We walked up from the marina and were greeted by a nice young man and asked if we would like to have dinner or just drinks and finger foods. We said, dinner and the the waiter came over and took our order. I think more training was needed in this area and ordered dinner anyways. The Crab-stuffed mushrooms ( very plain tasting ) and Shrimp scamp tasted very bitter ( wife has cooked better whichs is why I'm writing this reveiw) . So disappointed with the meal that we could not stay for (my favorite) Dessert. Meal prices were to be expected for the veiws with food. It's just to bad we have had a poor meal because the Shanghai Reds resturant could be so much better and the location is perfect for this resturant. Both my wife and I like to try different places to eat and can not go back here and feel comfortable about having a good meal at this place. Hopefully things change and it will improve in the future but we will never know because of the First visit. Thank you for letting me vent my frustrations, Brucemdoug

• Pros: Veiws of the Marina and people seemed to feel comfortable at the tables or bar area
• Cons: Poor food Flavour or lack of Flavour, Shrimp Scampi very Bitter

This restaurant has it ALL. BEAUTIFUL VIEW, GREAT MANAGEMENT & SERVICE A++ PLEASE TRY !!!

I really don't understand the previous post!!! We recently visited Shanghi Red's for dinner and thought it was a marvelous restaurant. We were greeted at the door and seated promptly. We had requested a specific table with a view and they were sooo accommodating. Though our server seemed a bit young, she was great! Very polite, attentive and seemed knowledgable about the menu. The General Manager, Dan I believe, came over briefly and suggested a wonderful bottle of wine which we thoroughly enjoyed. The calamari was perfect, not chewy, the Bocconcini Salad was crisp and fresh and the lemon pepper chicken served moist and with extra shredded cheese as requested!! The Restaurant is beautiful, with a lovely view and extremely nice people. Not to mention Affordable! PLEASE don't change management as previously suggested. We will be back again soon !!!

• Cons: Wish was could move the lake to the suburbs as it is quite a drive..lol Cons? NONE
