42.947693 -78.854112North End Trattoria Food and Staff Top Notch. We recently found out that the "North End" re-opened under new management. We were there for dinner this past Saturday, and what a great experience. The food is "top notch" (try the veal with eggplant and ravioli). The appetizers and salads were delicious as well. Did I say reasonable? You bet!. The restaurant itself is a touch of Brooklyn, intimate and cozy. Proprietor Jim Guttuso, and his staff made us feel more than welcome. Don't miss it. We will definitely be back. Congratulations to Jim!
Not the same "North End". My boyfriend and I had heard that the "North End" closed and had entered new management and wanted to try it. WOW was the food good!! Our waitress told us what to get and thank god we took her advice! We both split a pizza from the wood burning oven as an appetizer, I had the Ravioli which was delicious and he had the Veal dish. We both loved our meals and are looking forward to coming back soon.
Amazing Food and Service.
I have finally found a restaurant where the service is as outstanding as the food. Very friendly and attentive. The food was awesome.
We started with Mozzarella wrap and a Shrimp di Saronno which were both outstanding. Then for entrees I had the Veal Milanese and my wife had the Shrimp Fra Diavlo and she loved it jumbo shrimp in a spicy light tomato sauce with escarole it was truely delicious. I am glad we both saved room for dessert I had the Lemoncello Tira Misu and my wife had the cannoli' tini an intersting take on serving a cannoli you have to check it out.
I am definatly recommending Guttusos to family and friends.
Best new restaurant in Buffalo. Very creative and fresh. E. What a great new spot. Prices are right. The ravioli Mezza Lunas and the Neopolitan wood fired pizzas are the best i've had anywhere in the world. This is a great addition to the Buffalo restaurant scene.
Best Italian Food Yet in Buffalo. My husband and I took a romantic stroll down Hertel Ave on 5/20/11 and came across this restaurant. We had the best service and food. The atmosphere was wonderful. I cannot say anything bad about this place besides I wish I could have dinner here every night. My compliments’ to the chef!!! From the salad to the main course and I could not ask for a better romantic dinner. EVERYTHING WAS JUST WONDERFUL!!!!! Thank you to all whom worked Friday night!!!!!
A great new one.
My girlfriends and I stump led up North End Tratorria by accident last week and what an accident it was.
We are heading back there tonight with the husbands.
We decided to each order an entree and share them
They consisted of a pepper pasta with chicken and snow peas in a light gorgonzola sauce. This was my favorite. The others were "the chef' special" which included a long triangular tubular shaped pasta, homemade mozzarella, extremely tender beef in a red sauce. This was the favorite of my friends. The final dish was a ravioli dish that also had the homemade mozzarella with a red sauce. To be honest, I was so full from eating the other two dishes, I didn't really give this one a chance. My friends did enjoy it though.
We had no room for dessert so I can't comment on that today but I am going back tonight so hopefully I'll be able to let you know about it.
I probably should have mentioned how wonderful the service was. We had a conversation with the owner and he is origninally from Buffalo but has spent some time in Florida. He reconnected with his old chef on Facebook and decided to open this restraint. I'm really glad they did.
Enjoy
Guttuso's North End - Same location, World of difference. Guttuso's is the closest thing to authentic Italian that the city has offered in a long time. The pasta's are fantastic, and the Secondi featuring Veal dishes, seafood, and other various meats is extraordinary. A pizza from the wood burning oven is a must!! Service is top notch and the ambience can't be beat.. Will be back again soon, and often...
North End Trattoria is Closed.
NORTH END TRATTORIA IS NO LONGER THERE.
GUTTUSOS NORTH END TRATTORIA has taken over the building and created a new restaurant. The new restaurant is a wood burning brick oven Italian restaurant. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is a very warm and inviting authentic italian expirence. Guttusos North End Trattoria has replaced the old North end Trattoria and is not the same restaurant that is listed above. To get in contact with the new restaurant you can check them out at their website by searching for GUTTUSOS NORTH END TRATTORIA in google, on facebook by searching for the same thing or give them a call at 716-235-8070
Worst meal I've had in Buffalo.
First time here...wanted to try a new place. The menu didn't have many choices. If you don't like lamb or one choice of steak...you're in trouble. The specials were just "different versions" of the standard menu (ie - add some cheese and $5 to the steak and it's a special).
We had the regular strip steak (the only steak cut on the menu) and it was a very fatty and the flavor was underwhelming at best. It was a $31 which is insulting. The second entre we had was the seafood risoto. It was the most fishy tasting meal I've ever had...and the shrimp were raw (needless to say they ended up on the side of the plate with the mussell shells). For an added touch they threw raw tomatoes and asparagus pieces in the dish...That was a loss of $25.
I hate to say it, but I felt like I was robbed after paying for the meal. Live and learn.
Wouldnt Re-visit. Love trying new places so went here to have a few drinks and try the food- our server was nice but overall the food was not anywhere worth the price - started out with the stuffed hot peppers and the artichoke pancakes which were alright but nothing too impressive overall as far as the taste. My date got the strip steak (garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic at all & I got ahi tuna over vegetables which were tasteless and boring. Nothing impressed us and really wasnt worth the cost. My advice, dont bother, there are too many other fabulous restaurants to waste your money here.
