Horrible service by granddaughter of owner.
In August 2009 I went to dinner with my sister, bride to be, sisters and friends (7 people total). The bride had choosen this resturant due to a lactose free diet. We had the worse service ever.
We waited over 30 minutes to have someone take our order, then when the food was served it was cold. We then waited about 45 minutes after our plates were cleared for the check. Once the check was paid we waited nearly another 45 minutes, until someone went looking for our waitress to find our were our cash and credit cards were. She was having a difficult time separting cash from credit charges for the bill. When questioned what the problem was she become very defensive and rude. Mind you, we were being understanding since the bride picked this restaurant and she was embassed.
We asked to speak to the manager, her reply was- the owner was her grandmother and did we want to speak with her. Our reply was yes, but no grandmother ever came to our table. We could see her talk to the bartender and point at us. He came over and told us that he was the manager and that we were a $1.50 short on our bill (tips was included in bill). Not to make more of an issue than it already was, I paid the $1.50.
Also to add insult to injury, there was pasta sauce down the sleave of my sweater that my sister noticed while we were waiting for the bill.
I feel that since we looked young we were treated poorly, while in fact I am a local physician and 4 others in our group are also young professionals locally.
I would never recommend this place to anyone.
good ambience. i dined there over the summer with someone who knew the owner (also a chef) so i did not have the same frustrating experiences with the service as idcarey. the main dininng area was very small but was reminiscent of many experiences ive had in other excellent restaurants in other cities (e.g NYC). the patio was excellent, with heaters and a great bar. the appetizers were great but the entrees left a lot to be desired. much of our food arrived cold and uninteresting. i would, however, recommend a summer evening on the patio for drink and apps.
Horrible Customer Service. Upon some rave reviews from my friends, I made reservations at La Tee Da and had a very appalling experience. We waited almost 2 hours (from the time we ordered) for our dinner, and our server stopped back only once to let us know that the kitchen was running slow (45 minutes after we ordered) ? she offered no more bread, nor to refill our empty drinks - nothing. I spoke with the owner about the situation, and her response was to tell our server (in front of me) that she had a ?problem table?. I did not appreciate being referred to as a ?problem? table by the owner, who did nothing to resolve the situation. Both assistant manager and owner were extremely apathetic to our experience and the server actually screamed in my friends face to "just leave and never come back here". So many things went wrong that night, and never once did anyone offer anything even as simple as an apology. I have never been treated as poorly as I was at La Tee Da and when I started telling people about my experience there, many of them also had unpleasant experiences.
