What a disappointment!!!. We had heard so much about the quality of the food that we were very excited to finally have the opportunity to go. We had heard about the horrible parking situation (it was bad but nothing a few laps around the block couldn't cure) from friends but figured it wasn't a big deal if the food was great. Boy were we disappointed. We started with the calamari and stuffed hot peppers. While the portion size was decent the quality of the peppers was average and the calamari awful. the waitress was pleasant but very rushed and short all evening but other than that did a decent job getting us in and out (turn and burn) as the restaurant was busy. Our salads were pretty bland, wedding quality might best describe them. So far we're not very impressed. My wife ordered the pasta Bolognese and it wasnt the pasta promised on the menu and was way overcooked and mushy. The bolognese was lets just say very bland. We were expecting fresh ingredients and big flavor. I went with the fettucine and scallops which was also overcooked and the scallops were borderline tasteless. I think people may rave because they get good portions, but we definately won't be back. The food quality and preparation was very disappointing. Too bad!

One of my favorites.... The food is fantastic and the wait staff is great. Portions are huge, so plan on taking some home. I love the location...right where you wouldn't expect it.

WOW! INCREDIBLE FOOD!!!. After having heard so much about the place, I finally relented and went last night with a friend. I have never made a better eating decision in my entire life. The place seems as though it was transplanted directly from Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. No sign, parking was tough, dimly lit exterior, maybe call it slightly intimidating. But....when you walk in the door you feel comfortable immediately. We were greeted right away but opted for a drink at the bar. The bartender was cordial and surpisingly we found out the place is relatively new. We wanted to absorb some atmosphere and elected to sit in the bar area. We were given a choice. There is also a dining room that we were told is a little quieter. The wine list was OK but the menu was nice with a good selection of classic and unique dishes. One of the specials was a tasting menu and we opted for that. WOW! There was a nice tomato soup with bufala mozzarella and crouton. Silky, flavorful, very nice. There was a scallop that was perfectly cooked (hard to find one in Buffalo) with a creamy lemon risotto. Then there was an agnolotti (never had that in Buffalo) that was to die for with pork and sage. I didn't think it could get any better but it did. There was a homemade spaghetti with steak, varietal mushrooms, and truffle with egg that was stunning and finally there was a piece of chicken breast with tomato and mozzarella in a beautiful unique sauce that was deserving of a standing ovation. Dessert was puff pastry with chocolate that was good but didn't measure up with the savory dishes. I don't know who the chef is but it might have been Mario Batali as good as this food was. The food came out in a timely manner and the service (Stephanie) was genuine and professional. This quite possibly may have been the finest meal I have ever eaten and certainly the food at this restaurant is of a very high caliber and the prices are reasonable. The tasting flight was only $29.95 per. Salute Mulberry!

Great Italian Food, parking area is small, don't plan on eating here late night!. The food is excellent. We've had more good experiences than not, but don't plan on getting a table at 9pm because the kitchen closes at 9:30pm. Writing this review in hopes the manager will read it. Our WORST ever experience was on a Sunday night last week when we had a wait staff person by the name of Brenda.

We'd expressed we were looking to spend some time with a cocktail and review the menu; leisurely time.

Not once did she mention to us that the kitchen closes at 9:30 - - that is until 9:20 when she made a bee-line for our table and curtly stated the kitchen was closing and unless we knew what we wanted to order, we'd pretty much be SOL. Needless to say, we ordered a stand-by favorite of ours, the Seafood Cannelonni only to discover it was dry and quite tasteless compared to our previous experience.

We were thoroughly dissapointed as we'd had a long romantic weekend and wanted this to be the "topper" to a perfect weekend. During this experience we didn't see a manager is sight and the wait staff was rude.

Authentic ---- the real deal!. Hands down the best red sauce in Buffalo. I travel a lot and have been to many an Italian restaurant in major US cities and this place can make it in any city. The meatballs are not just big and beautiful but they have amazing flavor. I have moved around the menu quite a bit and I have been pleased every time. I wouldn't suggest showing up on a weekend expecting to get a table. I have found that the best nights to go are on Tuesdays or Thursdays (they just opened on Mondays...haven't been there on a Monday yet but imagine, like Tuesday, you could sit right down). The atmosphere is very old school and comfortable. The staff is friendly and the chef frequents the dining room. If you want to know what true Italian food is all about you should try this place. I should note that the steak is among the best I have had as well. I had a filet mignon with a beautiful mushroom demi and it was to die for and was reasonable at $26. Check this place out. If you have to wait for a table, do yourself a favor and wait. You won't regret it. Salute!
