Totally disgusted by what I witnessed.
I had the unfortunate experience of being present at "BERNINA" club. The owner stood up in front of everyone and for at least 1/2 hour bad mouthed the competitor, and some of the competitors staff.
I found it appalling someone would stoop so low. Not only did I find out later most of what she said was a total fabrication, I question why someone would be so crass, as to do such a thing. I am totally disgusted by what I witnessed. Unwarranted and nasty. When one is pointing fingers, they should look to the ones pointing back.
Friendly ,fun ,fabric!.
When I read other reviews on site I had to disagree. I am a frequent shopper at Aurora and love to visit both stores because they each have thier own atmosphere and specialty items. I find the staff eager to help and interested in whatever project you are making, they are also knowledgeable and readily offer advise on everything from a new item that would make my life easier to a thread that would work well on my project. And they arn't afraid to say so if they don't know an answer, but they will find the answer for you.
If I say I'm going grocery shopping in town my DH never fails to ask if I'm stopping at the clubhouse. And anyone who knows me knows it's the place to go to get me the perfect gift - you can even keep a want list on file at holiday time. Great product, selection, service, and classes.
What a place. Lots of mechandise but the experience ends there. Previous rater said the place left her cold. That was an understatment to my experience. They do not know their product and the staff was less than nice. I had to practically tackle them to get an answer and when I did the lady was very curt and short. Only was interested in taking my money and not in what I wanted. Holy cow. Then I found out SHE was the owner! Needless to say, this will be my last visit!
Not the friendliest, but good selection. My visit to Aurora Sewing Center left me a little cold, but I did find a few nice pieces. I wasn't warmly greeted, but this sewing/quilt shop was set up very nicely. The fabrics were organized by type and color, so it made selection easy. There was a good variety to choose from, but I had difficulty getting the atteniton of any of the girls working there. There was a nice size classroom set up, and there was a class going on, but there were several employees that appeared not to be involved with that, so I was a little miffed both when I had a question & when I was ready to have my selections cut & paid for. When I go quilt shop hopping, I'm looking for a friendly, helpful atmosphere with employees/owners who let me shop on my own, but who are also right there if I want some interaction. Though the fabric selection and large flannel group were impressive, the atmosphere was not.....
