Great food. One of my favorite place for lunch...Food is great..but the service is slightly slow.
Great Atmosphere. What a great place. Food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The waitress was a little slow, but not enough to lose a star. I was there for breakfast and look forward to visiting again for lunch or dinner.
Best waitress in Buffalo. Towne Restaurant has the best waitress in Buffalo!! Be sure to ask for Holly, she is such a sweetheart, and make sure to tip her well!
Bad Service. Please, be aware when trying to park your vehicle. The parking area is disorganized. There are no signs for exit or entrance. Cars are coming and going in different directions. You also may encounter parking attendant that will whistle to get you attention. Totally unprofessional!!! In addition, do not even try to speak with manager/owner because he will yell at you and disrespect you even more. Do not try to give any suggestion as the manager/owner thinks he is the "Greek God".
Day or night, this hopping Allentown landmark serves breakfast to hungry hordes of students, cops and local merchants..
The Scene
Broad, shiny and always hopping, this restaurant's the place where folks from every walk of life start off or wind down their day. A couple of booths, lots of chrome and Formica, even an outdoor tent--the orders fly and the food keeps coming.
The Food
Towne has a full menu items, but breakfast is the most popular meal here. Eggs any style, French toast, pancakes, hash browns and a wide assortment of omelets help prepare patrons for the day ahead. Cops, students, and antique dealers alike chow down on the corned-beef hash and eggs (Eggbeaters are available). Fried eggs with beef, chicken or lamb souvlaki, and a gyro breakfast reveal Towne's Greek influence. Day or night, breakfast should be followed by Towne's famous rice pudding served with whipped cream.
Texas Redhots w/Feta Cheese. Hadn't been back to Buffalo in 7 years and haven't eaten @ Towne since early eighties. My favorite place in Buffalo for Texas Redhots 'cause they can be ordered with feta cheese topping. Still remember standing in long line outside the original restaurant waiting for a coveted seat in one of the 4 or 5 booths after a hard night on the Elmwood strip. Excellent food & great service.
A Former Loyal Customer. This is by far the best souvlaki in the area. The portions are plentiful and the taste is incomparable. For the most part, the service is fast and friendly. Only once have I encountered bad service and unfortunately, the person was so inexplicably and unbelievably rude that I have not yet forgotten, and so, have yet to return. The manager of this restaurant should be more aware of the people who are answering the phone for take-out orders. I am now on a search for another outstanding souvlaki restaurant.
great. Great food fast service and friendly atmosphere. The owner is attentive to the quality of food and service.
As Good As I Remember. I had not been to Towne since I moved away from Buffalo in the 80's but on coming back, we dined at Towne to find that the food and service was just as good now as it was then. I have compared every Gyro I have eaten since to those that I had at Towne while I was in college. The wait staff still serves the best Gyros in Buffalo. The combination plate is not only a great way to taste some of the most popular menu items, but is also very filling, a challenge to complete. The lemon rice soup is a wonderful compliment to flavors of lamb and greek potatoes. I found the staff to not only be fast and efficient, but friendly and sociable as well. As good as I remember!
