Intimate dining rooms, an interior courtyard and star-studded ceilings make up for average food at this romantic restaurant..
In Short
Lord Chumley's has transformed three neoclassical row houses into a fantasy world reminiscent of a Broadway stage set. A series of elegant dining rooms open onto a brick-walled, cobblestone inner courtyard. Tables, topped with white linen, are small and intimate. The prix fixe menu consists of appetizers, good salads and homemade breads, traditional entrees and an abbreviated selection of fancy desserts.
User review by pjdipirro. I've been at this restaurant three times, and was blown away twice. I had one bad experience. My advice, pick a time when it's not busy. I went on Valentine's Day a year ago, and it was terrible. The service was poor, especially for what I paid for. The food was great, but no service. However, the other two times were during the week when it was relatively slow, and the servers were tremendous. Again, if you go, go on a slow night.
Once in a lifetime....
Each time I have visited Lord Chumley's from Toronto, I have not been disappointed. You are treated like royalty, the selection of food is extraordinary and no one can beat the courtyard of a sky filled with stars and romance!
You can take your friends, your mate, your family or even your co-workers, it doesn't matter. You always end up looking like a superstar for recommending this restaurant. You haven't experienced fine dining if you haven't been to Lord Chumley's!
Fine dining at it's best!!. I recently had a chance to dine at Lord Chumley's and was very impressed. The service was top notch, the atmosphere was very romantic and the food was some of the best I have ever had in Bufflao. This was a birthday surprise from my boyfriend and it turned out to be a very special, romantic night. I would go back there any time. It's a lovely place with great food to mark a special occasion. Enjoy!!!
HORRIBLE.
ATTENDED XMAS PARTY AND EACH COUPLE ENDED UP PAYING $70/COUPLE FOR WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A CASH BAR, WHICH WASN'T. THEIR RESPONSE, "WE DON'T LIKE TO DEAL WITH CASH!"
I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN - I BELIEVE THEYU ARE FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY.
Refused to honor $100 Gift Certificate.
We had received a $100 gift certificate to Lord Chumley's which we were unable to use immediately. When we noticed it had expired (1 year) we called to confirm that they would still honor it. They refused! So basically they pocketed the $100 bucks and said stick it. Needless to say, we will never patronize this restaurant. With this type of customer relations, why would anyone want to?
Ratings note: Since we couldn't use our certificate we couldn't go so we rated Food, Ambience, & Value as 2's. Service and Overall reflect our opinions.
Terrible, terrible , terrible. Went here after hearing rave reviews..Were these people eating at the same place I was at??They lost our reservations, terrible service and food....WAY too much money for the whole experience..Must say, I did enjoy the dessert in the starlit room and entertainment was good- as for the appetizers, food and service- They will NEVER get my money again!
