You can believe me when I say,"ALLENTOWN ART FESTIVAL IS THE VERY BEST EVENT OF THE YEAR". The food, the people, the concerts, the dancing, the chaos, the dogs, and of course MORE and MORE ART! Imagine the music blasting in your ears while eating that wonderful warm sweet bread or HOT PORK SANDWICH...and viewing a favorite painting... You are running to each entertainment site.You are here and You are there, visiting as many art tents as is possible...(huff-puff)... You are seeing all of your friends and EVERYONE you have EVER KNOWN... while constantly talking to EVERYONE that you have NEVER KNOWN. For two whole days everything else going on in the world is moot. FUN? Ya think? WHAT COULD BE BETTER? I hope see you all there. Hurry and don't be late!

I would never miss this event. They have all different kinds of art not just paintings. Pottery and jewelery quite popular. Garden decorations and fountains are enchanting. This event is a great way to spend the day downtown. There is plenty of food too.

Avenues of Art -Taking It to the Streets

The Allentown Art Festival is one of Buffalo's jewels as well as the official start of summer in Western New York. The Festival is the second largest art festival in the country and yearly brings in 450 exhibitors from all over the US and Canada. This year's festival, the 45th, will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th from 11:00am to 6:00pm, and as always, is free. It is held amid the streets of Allentown's rich architectual uniqueness and charm. The Allentown Village Society will be awarding prizes in 10 media categories as well as the yearly poster contest. The Society, documented and preserved by the U.S. Library of Congress, also yearly awards 6 scholarships as well as donations to numerous local art societies. This year's theme is "United We Stand 9-11-2001"
