Sumptuous dining and huge steaks draw a discerning clientele to this posh Gates Circle restaurant.. The Scene
A staple of downtown Gates Circle for generations, the Park Lane was transformed several years ago from its former Tudor incarnation into a more aesthetically pleasing space. The Great Room, a beautiful sunken bar, is decorated in tones of earth red, sandy parchment and black. Rich tapestries and handsome furniture give the interior comfortable character, and an immense, copper-hooded fireplace dominates the center of the room.

The Food
Mediterranean fish soup is flavored with saffron and served with eggplant caviar and hummus on grilled bread. Side dishes include hearty sauteed spinach or mascarpone polenta. The magnificent Jamison leg of lamb is slow-roasted and served with carrot confit and boiled Yukon potatoes. Seriously hungry couples will drool over a magnificent 48-ounce Porterhouse steak for two, served with a mountain of fried potatoes.
