Best in Buffalo. Atmosphere is pathetic, but the food is outstanding, and that is saying a lot in the gastronomic wasteland that is Buffalo. Excellent thai calamari starter, good portions - in all the best restaurant in WNY.

Outstanding cuisine!. Visited Hutch's on a recent trip to Buffalo and could not have been more impressed. I've had the pleasure of eating at many fine restaurants in the U.S. and abroad, and this restaurant ranks among the best i've been to. Our party was eight people, and we shared many of our dishes. I had the veal chop stuffed with fontina cheese, which was fantastic, and would highly recommend the lamb chops and sesame-crusted yellowfin tuna as well. The appetizers, particularly the stuffed poblano peppers, were terrific and the desserts delicious (I had key lime-flavored gelato). Additionally, I can not fail to mention that the service was outstanding from beginning to end. Any trip to Buffalo should include a meal here!

Best Soft Shell Crab ANYWHERE!. Soft shell crab, as most know, is seasonal. I can't WAIT until it comes in so I can head straight for Hutch's! It is by far my favorite meal. There is nothing disappointing about this place. The sevice is second to none and the meal will never disappoint. Hutch manages a very tight ship and it shows! The bar is sultry and romantic. I love cozy-ing up to it with a great glass of red wine. You must try a Mojito here too! Nothing but the best at Hutch's.

This busy restaurant on Gates Circle has a series of low-ceilinged rooms jam-packed with Buffalo's hip elite. Brick walls, French posters from the '50s and white linen give Hutch's a French bistro feel. Some favorites are soft-shell crabs or stuffed poblano chiles with goat cheese, black beans, Monterey jack and tomatillo sauce. Fresh daily specials have appetizers like Maine crab spring rolls and fried calamari on Asian vegetables with a spicy vinaigrette. Entrees lean toward seafood (jambalaya pasta is a favorite), but meat selections, and the occasional offering of venison, are also served.

send me to hutch's. excellent food in a romantic setting. my girlfriend and i went on a cold winter night and the food was so warm and comforting. almost all of their appetizers were good and the lamb chops are a must! the place is a tad small and a bit pricey, but the food and service is second to none. definitely going back.

Best restaurant in Buffalo. My wife and I are returning from Tucson, AZ, in part, to be reunited with Hutch's! Whenever we want the best cusine and service in town we head for Hutch's. I have had nothing but great meals here and the service is outstanding, beginning with Patrick. Whenever anyone asks us about our favorite Buffalo restaurant, we do not hesitate with our reply. My favorite is the steak au poivre while my wife prefers the soft-shelled crab.

Love or Hate Relationship?!. Well.. well! I finally get to update this review. Over five years ago, when there were a few negative reviews, my opion actually made sense! It seems to me, not that I've now known Hutch for over 32 years, whom ever has a chance to experience this great little place, must go! Funny thing, I've traveled all over the world and sat in 5 star restaurants that were spectacular! However, I was really wishing I was back home in Hutch's! So, the rest of the previous review doesn't matter anymore but, you still have to call ahead for a reservation. Oh yeah, I agree, the fried oysters are outstanding!

One of our favorites. Hutch's has never disappointed. The food is great, servers are courteous and helpful, ambience is upbeat. The appetizers can easily serve as a meal - we especially love the fried oysters, stuffed poblano pepper and salads.
