Velentine's Day DisaSTEER part 2. continued from 2/14/10

I know your restaurant group is capable of much much more, I do not lament the money spent. Please keep my hundred dollars and put it towards next years Valentine's Day.

Moreover, I would never consider using such harsh words if i had not spent over 10 years in the service industry. Restaurant work subsidized my education and It is grueling, demanding, and thankless. But the rewards are happy clients who go home to tell their friends, not write negative reviews. Please prove me wrong, please don't allow another Buffalo institution to fade in the abyss. Down economy or not, we don't dine out to have our food microwaved then rushed out while salad plates and appetizer plates are still on the table out in total silence. Your menu and servers did an excellent job having us out in 44 minutes, too bad we did not have a 9pm movie to catch, because were just sitting here thinking, 'what the heck happened in two years?'

Good steaks!. My partner and I had a very good meal here. The french fries are hand cut with the potato skins left on - cooked to a satisfying crisp. Steaks are generous portions, but be sure to ask for rare if you want medium rare - they tend to overcook slightly. Salads are terrfic and you can add seared ahi tuna to create a complete meal. Desserts are not generally made in house, except for the apple crisp. Do try it, as it is delicious. Great selection of wines and beers, and a patio where you can watch the world go by and still feel like you are in a private space. The only real disappointment was that they were out of ribs on the night we were there. Oh - and there were smokers on the patio - which made dining a bit unpleasant.

The Steers Steaks, and Chops are Superb. My Fiancee and I had a phenomenal dinning experience at The Steer Restaurant & Saloon... What a great Restaurant!!! I would say it is a casual fine dinning atmosphere... and the food and service were great. The also had a wonderful patio that we were able to enjoy after dinner. Then are server was kind enough to give us a little history and tour. they have a beautiful upstairs banquet room with a roof top patio.... alot of changes have taken place at this restaurant over the years... my parents met here 30 years ago... a definate historical landmark in Buffalo, and a great steakhouse....Thanks we will definately make this a regular weekly event.... and the BBQ Shrimp!!!! Awesome!!! Hey is this really Buffalo's Oldest Steakhouse???
