great food. Had a great meal the other night. Would definitely go back again if I had to. Great water and bread made it special.

dissapointed. i was a big fan of kostas. they have a great menu selection and i love their dips with hot feta and roasted red peppers and their pitas. however the last 2 times i was there, i was super dissapointed. about 2 months ago, i went there and decided to stray away from my normal soulvaki. i got a chicken finger sub. it was a sloppy mess and overcooked. my friend got a club and it was also less than satisfying. then just today i went there on my break for soulvaki. it came out super fast- just 5 minutes- way 2 fast obviously because half my chicken was raw. i was going to complain, but since i only had an hr lunch break and my server only came over a half hr into my meal to give me my check i just left. i'd reccomend plaka. good food, both greek and american. they don't have appetizers yet, but their tzatziki and spanakopita are too good to pass up.

comfort food. Great Food, service and diverse clientele, filthy bathrooms and the owner Kosta is not friendly.

The Sunday breakfast specials are same old fare.

Yes it's a family restaurant(aren't all Greek restaurants family?) but no move is made to

quiet the loud family's/crying for the comfort of the rest of us.

Long and loyal patrons will sustain Kosta's regardless of his nibs being cranky to us and his staff.

Other than that It's home away from home cause I can't cookatall.

Better than the Towne or Tom's

Worst food. Went here on vacation based on other citysearch reviews. The patio is nice. The plain / ordinary house green salad and home made bread and service was good. But that's about it. Went for dinner and it was horrible! Overcooked chicken and leg of lamb, bland pastitio. The only thing going for the meal was the preformed / frozen to reheat gyros meat. A big disappointment. I'll stick to getting my Greek food when I visit Greece again.

The Best Breakfast Selection and Not a Chain. While I left Bflo. many decades ago, whenever I visit relatives, which is several times a year, Kostas is a must. Especially since they remodeled a number of years ago, and have a "patio" capability, overlooking Hertel, it's just the nicest place to sit and watch the world go by, people watch, and have truly good food at a great price.

I especially love (or rather only know) Kostas for breakfast, served until fairly late in the am, where anything from the omelettes (homemade kasseri cheese is just great inside the generous three eggs, sausage patties are also very good, not your Jimmy Dean fare) to the pancakes (with real maple syrup) or deeply-crevassed waffles, will satisfy anyone for an embarrassingly low price. Fried potatoes are done to perfection, not always the case elsewhere. Order Real Rye Bread with Caraway instead of white or whole wheat; good bread is hard to find, and this toasts up and butters to even a picky eater's taste.) Oh, lest I forget, the coffee is excellent, always freshest and never weak, and bottomless. Waitstaff are really nice people as are buspeople. Tip them kindly, they deserve it.

Only thing missing is the newsstand that used to be on the corner where you could get the NY Times. Maybe Walgreen's across the street now stocks it, don't know.

But speaking of, don't park there, though it's tempting, with little street parking available on Hertel. Walgreen's does indeed ticket and tow.

The BEST GREEK FOOD in town. Over 12 years ago I worked on Hertel near Kosta's and we frequently enjoyed our lunched there. Now I still travel to the restaurant to have breakfast on the weekend or lunch/dinner often as the food is great, the restaurant has been remodeled recently and is very neat and clean with a nice patio area, great service and very reasonable prices. I highly recommed at least one visit to get you started, it is worth the trip!
