Real Italian

by askabry at Citysearch

The owner of this restaurant truly has his head sown on straight ... a classic, fine Italian experience where nothing is left to chance.

The service amounts to some of the best you'll find in Buffalo (or really, anywhere). On a busy Friday night, my tables and the ones around me were masterfully cared for, items making their appearance and whisked away promptly.

After ordering, the busboy brought warm (! why is this so hard to find?) bread, pure butter and a camponata that starts your evening absolutely perfectly.

We enjoyed Seafood Casino, a great Meatball appetizer, some Parmegiana and a phenomenal Lemon Gelato afterwards ... and we'll be back. The menu reeks of quality, from top to bottom and although it was our first time we felt as home as the many regulars that seemed to be all around us.

Nothing too gaudy in decor, tables ever so slightly too tight, naturally Frank playing on the sound system. I rarely say this about expensive Italian dining ... but worth every penny.

Will not eat at this restaurant again

by behi77 at Citysearch

We had dinner at Sinatra's Restaurant on sunday night 10/18/09. Their staff was friendly and fast. My main dish of eggplant parmesan tasted anything but eggplant. There was a very thin slice of eggplant and mostly pasta. Eggplant was not cooked and the sauce did not taste good. My side dish was risotto which was sticky uncooked rice. The soup was ok, but not worth going to a place like this for just the soup.

  • Pros: service is good
  • Cons: Their food does not taste better than frozen TV dinner

Great food and atmosphere!

by madison1972 at Citysearch

I've lived and traveled all over, and this is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten at. The Ossu Bucco was amazing and my friend loved his braciole. The atmosphere is comfortable and unpretentious, and the service was excellent. Loved the Sinatra music in the background. In a day where restaurants try so hard to be edgy and trendy, its great to know there are still places that serve great food in a comfortable atmosphere. I can see why the dining room was full.

  • Pros: great food, atmosphere. Huge portions.
  • Cons: not for children, and could be a little loud when busy
