The Scene
Back when it was only one crowded room, Amici's soundtrack was Italian pop with operatic overtones, owner Orazio's favorites from the tip of the boot. Now much more than a pizza parlor, and expanded to two rooms with linens and a busboy, this restaurant is like dress-down Friday: casual and comfortable with a touch of class.
The Food
Amici's lengthy menu of authentic Sicilian dishes still includes the much-loved thin-crust pizzas, both red and white. Meat and vegetable toppings, some hard to find elsewhere, are generously piled on the pies. Lasagna, manicotti, and veal and chicken dishes are also highly recommended, but the Amici-style white pizza with tomatoes, four cheeses, garlic, onions and anchovies is not to be missed. For a perfect meal, share a mountain of antipasti beforehand and finish with a plate of spumoni.

We recently went to Amici's for a dinner with my parents and grandmother. They were very accomodating getting my grandmother into the restaurant and helping her get comfortable. They paid extra attention to her and made sure she was able to order. We sat outside and it began to rain. The waiter pulled down the awnings and offerred to move us, but we elected to stay put. He just went the extra mile - he was great! And the food!!! It was so incredibly good! I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the sausage ravioli. Both were amazing! Big portions, lots of sauce, great flavor. The salad that came with the meal had home-made dressing which was super (I had balsamic vinagrette). We sat and talked for a long time after dinner and they never rushed us out. It was just such a great experience. Very reasonable prices. We will certainly go to Amici again!

I have been to this restaurant many times over the past 7 years and overall it is a good Italian restaurant although somewhat pricey. The food is typically pretty good as is the service. It is a small place and usually on weekends there can be a wait if you get there at a peak time. This place is not geared for small children unless they are very accustomed to going out to eat. There is no children's menu although the last time I was there the waitress we had offered to bring my 3 year old a side of pasta which ended up being a great portion for her!

Ace is the man! His menu and recipes and the best ever, not just in Buffalo. A MUST is his portabello muchroom cream sauce when he makes it. It's so incredible you'll want to take some home and take a bath in it! Manga!
