Gift Certificates. As a frequent restaurant goer, I was surprised and disappointed to discover that our recently expired gift certificate, of two months, was now only worth half of it's original value. While frequenting top restaurants such as Oliver's, Hutch's, Left Bank and Tabree, expiration dates are inconceivable as quality always weighs out over the quick buck. I would hope that going forward Amici's either changes this absurd policy or else starts to rank itself in the measures of Denny's and The Country Buffet. Good luck...
Great all the way around.. We bought a Groupon for Amici and hoped it would be worth the 20 dollars spent. Well, let me say, it was fabulous from the covered patio, service, and especially the meal. Both my husband and I oohed and aahed through each course. We plan on going back next week. A lovely, unhurried Italian Restaurant. Fabuloso!
Excellent. I have been going to Amici for years, and it is always a wonderful experience. The food is excellent, the service is great, and the staff is always friendly. If you live in the area, Amici is also good for take out.
A Wonderful Dinning Experiance !. After moving to the neighborhood, I've been told by a few folks to try Amici's. I'm so happy I did! The food and service was the best I've had in awhile. The Antipasto was the BEST I've ever had! I also ordered a scallop dish that was out of this world! I also just found out that Amici's has take out. So when I'm done with my review I'm off to Amici's for some take out. If you wonder why take out, well...the food is so good that I just can't wait for someone to go with! Luv the food!!!!
Great food, friendly service, will go again!. WOW! The mood is fun, friendly, and revolves around good food. Portions generous, menu with variety, the owner is there in the kitchen or making rounds, just memorable! My husbands favorite meal is there - a pasta covered in shells. I've loved the eggplant and more recently a fish dish with fruit. We don't go out a lot so when we do I want a definite good night and I find it each time and Amici's!
Fantastic Food and Service (no I don't know the owner!!! ;). We recently went to Amici's for a dinner with my parents and grandmother. They were very accomodating getting my grandmother into the restaurant and helping her get comfortable. They paid extra attention to her and made sure she was able to order. We sat outside and it began to rain. The waiter pulled down the awnings and offerred to move us, but we elected to stay put. He just went the extra mile - he was great! And the food!!! It was so incredibly good! I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the sausage ravioli. Both were amazing! Big portions, lots of sauce, great flavor. The salad that came with the meal had home-made dressing which was super (I had balsamic vinagrette). We sat and talked for a long time after dinner and they never rushed us out. It was just such a great experience. Very reasonable prices. We will certainly go to Amici again!
Best Italian in Buffalo!. Ace is the man! His menu and recipes and the best ever, not just in Buffalo. A MUST is his portabello muchroom cream sauce when he makes it. It's so incredible you'll want to take some home and take a bath in it! Manga!
Decent food, poor service. I really enjoy the food, particularly the lasagna and Pasta Carbonara but the service is horrible. I have been going to Amicis for a few years now and it used to be great but my recent visit a few weeks was very bad. The server laughed at us when I gave him a coupon from the entertainment book and gave us an incredibly difficult time with the coupon. We were seated right next to the accordian player which killed any chance of conversation and we waited for about 20 minutes even though we had reservations. I was pretty offended.
too much change. There used to be this great little Italian restaurant - then they expanded and got too big for their britches. The wait staff used to be very friendly and very helpful - since they have expanded the few times we have tried "again" the impression was almost - you should feel lucky to be here. The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Dishes have changed, dishes have been removed from the menu, staff has changed and so has my opinion of Amici's. I used to recommend highly - now............ wel in my opinion stay away.
Uncooked Pizza. Well, perhaps the other reviewers are correct, and this pizza is very good, however, I can't tell you that, as the pizza we got was RAW! Not only was the pizza not cooked all the way through, we waited a very long time for the pizza to be ready, so you would assume, if anything, it would be over-cooked. The person on the telephone, when I ordered the pizza, said 30 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant 35 minutes later, and had to wait another 20 minutes in the restaurant, where the air conditioning was working, for an under-cooked pizza. The only good thing I can say is that at least it wasn't expensive. $10.20 for a large with pepperoni isn't bad, of course, I did expect that I would be able to eat it! I had to cook the pizza in my oven to make it edible!!
