Worst Steak I have EVER had – his was the worst steak I have ever had, it was to tough I think it came off a 200 year old cow. I could not even eat it, I sent it back and had the boring and bland "Sunday Sauce" dish instead. Shame on you guys, 800 Maple is so good how could you put out food like this at your sister resturant. I will NEVER go back.
Top Favorite Spot to Dine - upscale casual – Siena has long been one of my family's very favorite places to fine dine for "that special occasion" . We have celebrated at Siena for many birthdays, graduations and even a baby shower!!! It is also one of my personal favorite places to stop with a friend and enjoy a glass of wine, tasty salad and a delicious brick oven pizza. Great service, great food, attractive dining room, cozy bar ... great place! :)
Love At first Bite – My first experience at Siena was great. Greated with a warm welcome at the door. Restaurant is gorgeous. Servers were very friendly and knew the menu well. I had the shrimp scampi with is the best scampi sauce I have ever had. That was just a starter, server told me to try a steak and she was right. The presentation was as great as the steak. Will return for business and pleasure.
One of my favorite places! – I have been dining at Siena for years now. Whether I had lunch or dinner, there was always a meal that was satisfying. It is a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. You're greeted the moment you walk in the door and there are many different options dining. While waiting for your table, hang out at the bar! The bartenders are always friendly and have made some fantastic drinks; there is a full array of all types of drinks. The servers are very knowledgeable about the specials and the entire menu; they are always willing to tell me what they think I would enjoy for dinner that night and I'm never unsatisfied. My favorite? The Vincenzo pizza. It has Italian sausage and hot peppers, which are two of my favorite things. I love going there and I always feel welcomed. I would recommend this highly to anyone.
Warm, Friendly and DELICIOUS!!!! – My husband and I went out one night and decided to try a new restaurant. A friend of ours recommened Siena and I can see why. Immediately when we walked in the door we were greeted with a friendly "Hello, welcome to Siena". We were offered a table or to have a drink at the bar. We decided to have seat at the bar for a bit. We were offered a wide variety of martinis and wine. The also have a full bar. After we had a drink we decide to sit down at a table and we were seated very promptly. Our sever was very warm and efficient. She offered us many specials and answered any questions we did have since it was our first time. We started our evening with olives, cheese and warm bread. I ordered the scallop appetizer with honey roasted tomatoes and balsamic. My husband had a very generous size caesar salad to start. Both of these dishes were excellent. For our dinners, even though Siena is considered an italian restaurant, I chose a Dry-aged Ribeye and my husband decided on the Osso Bucco. I can honestly say that this was one of the best steaks I have ever had. His Osso was so tender and had so much flavor. Both dinners were fantastic. We ended our evening with cappachino and homemade creme brulee from a very nice list of desserts. Our service and experience at Siena was one to remember. We would highly recommened this restaurant to anyone. We will definately be visiting Siena again in the near future.
Re: Hidden Gem – I go out to dinner a lot with my wife, Pam, so I set my standards a little high when we go out. When we were dating we would go out each week. I would attempt to go somewhere new each week, but I do not get the final decision. A friend of mine told me about Siena, and I thought we could give it a shot. The prices were reasonable, the portions were large, and it made my wife happy. The host raved about their steaks and seafood, so I tried the ribeye. Cooked to perfection and equally delicious. Pam had the scampi appetizer that I ended up eating most of. For her dinner, she chose the toscana pizza. Nice little twist on a pie, and big points for that wood-burning oven. The service was very informative sice it was our first time and attentive as well. We will definitely be coming back.
Excellent Food & Service – Last night was our 8th dinner at Siena in 4 years.
Always fantasic service and great bartenders!
Menu offers varied choices; food is the best Italian
cuisine in a restaurant. Peach tart desert was top shelf.
We love the stone hearth pizza crust.
Pasta dishes are made to perfection.
Bread and salad will jumpstart anyone's palet!
I'm sorry, do I know you? – My wife and I dined at Siena a few years ago and from the moment we were (finally) "greeted", we should have just turned around and left. The entire staff's demeanor was to cater to the regulars and if you were not a regular, you would have to prove yourself worthy. While we couldn't get the attention of the hostess or server, the other tables seemed to be on a first name basis with the staff. The food was okay, but nothing you couldn't get somewhere a lot cheaper with much better service.
Tasteful design and tempting Tuscan cuisine earn this eatery a place among the city's best Italian restaurants. – The Scene
Siena's convenient location makes it the perfect place for the sophisticated Amherst set to drop in for dinner. No reservations are taken, but well-dressed devotees can wait patiently for a table at the handsome bar. The restaurant is well designed, with tasteful, Tuscan-inspired decor.
The northern Italian menu is exemplary. Antipasti include the chilled seared tuna with pesto, or spicy sea scallops with smoked mussels and herb aioli. Of the pastas, wild mushroom cannelloni with marsala and goat cheese cream is a favorite. The tasty tagliatelle with grilled shrimp, fennel, banana peppers, olives and tomato is also delicious. Chops, chicken, beefsteak and veal are creatively presented; the grilled T-bone is prepared with Vidalia onion and Gorgonzola compound butter. Specialty pizzas defy the imagination. Exquisite desserts, changed daily, include tortes, tarts, pies and tiramisu.
Stupendous – The Best in Buffalo for food and company. The atmosphere is casual, but elegant.
