The Scene – San Marco's quiet, understated interior allows diners to fully focus on the stellar northern Italian cuisine. Patrons are personally greeted by the owner and served by an impeccably trained waitstaff. The ever-changing menu never fails to enchant even the most fickle eaters. – – The Food – San Marco's pasta sauces include pink sun-dried tomato cream sauce and a white wine sauce with grilled shrimp, scallops and squid. Although I feel the food was spectacular, the sea bass and the trout, also the venison when they have it, i was taken back by the service. a regular customer, at least I thought,( frank didnt acknowledge us) The server didnt seem to want to be there and didnt seem to know the product. our salads, a second course, never came to us, although we were charged, and the coffee cups came without saucers. Our water glasses, well thats another story.
In my opinion, its scary to go there because it looks like an abandoned garage, and you never know who is going to control your night. We had and excellant waiter(a man) last year on a busy sunday, but a blonde girl this last time that, again, just seems like she didnt belong.
Id like this place to survive, but, with the lack of good service, i cant seem to justify spending the money.
And you might want to tell your watress' that Amarone has not one of the same grapes as Chianti
- Pros: gnocci, wine list, veal chop, trout, rabbit
- Cons: the service, lackadasical blondes who dont want to be there,

WITHOUT A DOUBT the best authentic italian restaurant in buffalo

San Marco Restaurant is phenominal. Our experiance there awesome. Frank (the owner) was in the front to greet us as we walked in, and its quite assuring knowing that his wife Nancy was in the back cooking our meal. The food was amazing and couldnt come out more fresh. They have recently remodeled and it looks beautiful. We sat in the wine room which was cozy and romantic. I had the fillet which was delicous and extremly reasonable priced at $26.00. The entire menu is hands down cheaper than many of the other fine dining restaurants in buffalo. The buffalo news gave them 4 stars and it was without a doubt extremly deserved. When you go to San Marco you are well taken care of, and if your lucky Frank just might sit down and tell a few jokes. I would recommend this restaurant to the young, the old, and everyone in between. I love it and wouldnt hesitate sending everyone there.
- Pros: The owners are always there and truly taking care of their customers
- Cons: no liquor
