Don't waste your money!. I have eaten Viola's steak & cheese subs for 40+ years as I live in the area. The last 3 time the sub was NOT good at all. There are less pieces of meat in the sub, the lettuce was old & wilted, there was less tomatoes & onions. All together there was much less of everything! The sub was garbage! Trash! Nothing like it used to be. NOT worth the money. You would be better to go to Mickie D's. Viola's need to upgrade their sandwich & retrain the staff. Customer satisfaction is NOT a priority. Expect to be disappointed! They have trimmed on everything they can to cut cost.

NYC food is the best in the world. To the idiot who said NYC food sucks has no idea what he's talking about. NYC is known for great foods and has many more types than Niagara Falls and Buffalo. Does anyone outside of Buffalo know what Buffalo is? LOL But I will say this, Violas subs are great. Always got their steak and cheese and chicken finger subs. Both amazing.

Travel from Albany. I travel all the way from Albany to eat here! They dont make food like that there. The plastic wrap is the best part of the sub it keeps all your belongings together!!!! You dont know what your missing if you dont eat at Viola's!!!!!!

NYC sucks compared to Food from Niagara fallls and Buffalo. i can not believe some of these negative comments. Violas and Niagara falls food in general are outstanding. Sorry to the saran wrap person, maybe you should stick with Mcdonalds its easier to open

Viola's is the best.... As a past resident of WNY, one of the things I miss most is Viola's Steak and Cheese (and Mighty Taco). Back in the 70's they were the hot spot for a late night snack. Today we make a point of visiting Viola's and bringing a couple home with us (keeping the oil on the side till we get home - even though a good soggy sub roll isn't bad either). Anyone that doesn't love the steak and cheese needs to have their heads examined. No one should go to Viola's for anything other than that. The staff are friendly, the sub rolls are the best in the country, and I beg to differ with anyone that can find a better steak and cheese anywhere. Love, love, love their sub! And now my 20-something kids are addicted too!

Maybe the best steak and cheese subs period. Order the steak and cheese sub with everything and you cannot possibly go wrong. This is not a cheese steak of Philadelphia fame - the steak is not chopped and "everything" includes lettuce onions tomatoes in perfect proportions. If you are a veggie or onion hater maybe hold that but keep the oils and seasoning. There's nothing tricky or unique here - just a blend of flavors that takes the humble s&c sandwich to a whole new level.

I have had friends literally fly cross country for these subs. Would never miss it on a trip to Buffalo.

Gave a second chance-failed again!. My wife and I hadn't been here since a "Major disappointment" sub 5 or 6 years ago. Thought we would give a second chance. Ordered a Cappicola sub with mayo, oil, provolone, and hot peppers. Then asked if it could be baked, told no, but meat could be warmed on grill. Then asked again if wanted cheese, yes, provolone. then asked if wanted the "works" as far as L,T,O. Said yes and reminded again of hot peppers. Got home to Grand Island, roll was stale, no mayo, no provolne, no hot peppers! Probably won't give them a third chance.....

Best in town. Violas is the best submarine you'll ever have, hands down. I could eat them everyday. Fresh homemade taste.
