Can't beat it
by bkirst1
Great place to see a band, every spot in the venue is close to the stage (just make sure you don't stand behind a tall person though), and odds are good you'll be able to talk with the musicians or have a smoke outside with them after the show.
- Pros: Good music
Come as you are

I can't believe how many times I've run into old friends here-from out of town yet! Great music always and treats like Buffalo's revived bands like The Vores. The staff is attentive and prices are sensible. Wide variety of clients, from business guys, construction people, to artists and philosophers. Always a place to park and feel safe.
- Pros: good music
- Cons: A llittle "divey"
Buffalo's most band-friendly bar is committed to putting on a good show for die-hard music enthusiasts.

The Scene
Nestled in a row of brick buildings on Mohawk Street, this may be the warmest, most band-friendly bar in Buffalo. Bartenders Mike and Bill never skimp on mixed drinks, and bottled beers are always ice-cold. Mike will occasionally breathe fire a la Gene Simmons. The pool table--like everything at the Mohawk--is cramped, but essential. The jukebox, chock full of roots rock and old-time country, is one of the best in town.
The Draw
According to one local musician, it's for "people who love music in general.... the person who goes to Mohawk is a dedicated music lover at heart." This bar's commitment to local music and independent touring acts may be unparalleled in Buffalo. The crowd is generally made up of musicians, writers and record collectors, with an assortment of colorful characters thrown in the mix.
Birthday boy steps out

My wife and I went there for my 55 TH birthday and had a great time. I have been going there since it opened and have always thought of Mohawk Place as my favorite club in the city. We live 100 miles away but it's such a treat to go and see new groups and old favorites we don't mind the drive. The recently expanded performing area is great. Plenty of room but still that friendly, intimate feel you like in a club. Drinks are served with a flair but nothing fancy schmancy about any of it.
- Pros: safe neighborhood, friendly folks, great bands
Party place
by dhickok
This is a great place to party. The cliental veries with the type of bands playing from Bikers to Busnessmen. Thursday evenings during the summer ROCKS !!! The drinks are cheap and strong. Only problem --- not enough single women.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly
- Cons: Can be too crowded
