Amici Ristorante by Kimberly L. at InsiderPages

I have been to this restaurant many times over the past 7 years and overall it is a good Italian restaurant although somewhat pricey. The food is typically pretty good as is the service. It is a small place and usually on weekends there can be a wait if you get there at a peak time. This place is not geared for small children unless they are very accustomed to going out to eat. There is no children's menu although the last time I was there the waitress we had offered to bring my 3 year old a side of pasta which ended up being a great portion for her!

Great food, friendly service, will go again!

by KRMI at Citysearch

WOW! The mood is fun, friendly, and revolves around good food. Portions generous, menu with variety, the owner is there in the kitchen or making rounds, just memorable! My husbands favorite meal is there - a pasta covered in shells. I've loved the eggplant and more recently a fish dish with fruit. We don't go out a lot so when we do I want a definite good night and I find it each time and Amici's!

  • Pros: clean, friendly, great food, awesome service, fair prices
  • Cons: none

Fantastic Food and Service (no I don't know the owner!!! ;)

by pet_vet5 at Citysearch

We recently went to Amici's for a dinner with my parents and grandmother. They were very accomodating getting my grandmother into the restaurant and helping her get comfortable. They paid extra attention to her and made sure she was able to order. We sat outside and it began to rain. The waiter pulled down the awnings and offerred to move us, but we elected to stay put. He just went the extra mile - he was great! And the food!!! It was so incredibly good! I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the sausage ravioli. Both were amazing! Big portions, lots of sauce, great flavor. The salad that came with the meal had home-made dressing which was super (I had balsamic vinagrette). We sat and talked for a long time after dinner and they never rushed us out. It was just such a great experience. Very reasonable prices. We will certainly go to Amici again!

  • Pros: Great food, great service, good prices, outdoor seating
  • Cons: none

Decent food, poor service

by breannlisa at Citysearch

I really enjoy the food, particularly the lasagna and Pasta Carbonara but the service is horrible. I have been going to Amicis for a few years now and it used to be great but my recent visit a few weeks was very bad. The server laughed at us when I gave him a coupon from the entertainment book and gave us an incredibly difficult time with the coupon. We were seated right next to the accordian player which killed any chance of conversation and we waited for about 20 minutes even though we had reservations. I was pretty offended.

  • Pros: Taste
  • Cons: Service, Increase prices

too much change

by patti516 at Citysearch

There used to be this great little Italian restaurant - then they expanded and got too big for their britches. The wait staff used to be very friendly and very helpful - since they have expanded the few times we have tried "again" the impression was almost - you should feel lucky to be here. The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Dishes have changed, dishes have been removed from the menu, staff has changed and so has my opinion of Amici's. I used to recommend highly - now............ wel in my opinion stay away.

Uncooked Pizza

by faridah27 at Citysearch

Well, perhaps the other reviewers are correct, and this pizza is very good, however, I can't tell you that, as the pizza we got was RAW! Not only was the pizza not cooked all the way through, we waited a very long time for the pizza to be ready, so you would assume, if anything, it would be over-cooked. The person on the telephone, when I ordered the pizza, said 30 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant 35 minutes later, and had to wait another 20 minutes in the restaurant, where the air conditioning was working, for an under-cooked pizza. The only good thing I can say is that at least it wasn't expensive. $10.20 for a large with pepperoni isn't bad, of course, I did expect that I would be able to eat it! I had to cook the pizza in my oven to make it edible!!

Classy yet comfortable, loyal crowds keep coming back for this restaurant's authentic Sicilian cooking.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
Back when it was only one crowded room, Amici's soundtrack was Italian pop with operatic overtones, owner Orazio's favorites from the tip of the boot. Now much more than a pizza parlor, and expanded to two rooms with linens and a busboy, this restaurant is like dress-down Friday: casual and comfortable with a touch of class.

The Food
Amici's lengthy menu of authentic Sicilian dishes still includes the much-loved thin-crust pizzas, both red and white. Meat and vegetable toppings, some hard to find elsewhere, are generously piled on the pies. Lasagna, manicotti, and veal and chicken dishes are also highly recommended, but the Amici-style white pizza with tomatoes, four cheeses, garlic, onions and anchovies is not to be missed. For a perfect meal, share a mountain of antipasti beforehand and finish with a plate of spumoni.

What happened???

by sbroad at Citysearch

We WERE frequent customers of this neighborhood restaurant, good food and friendly service. We noticed a trend toward inattentive service but continued to patronize the local business. Last weekend we made a reservation only to have the hostess remove our name from the list without seating us! That was just the beginning. Our waitress promptly informed us she was having a "bad" night, not something to tell the paying customers! We ordered three bottles of wine and none were in stock, finally settled for an unfamiliar bottle and had to ask to taste it! Twice we were served the wrong food. Never an apology from anyone. Needless to say, this was our last visit.

amici -a family place

by seebogs at Citysearch

Amici means friends resturant, and this is the place where friends can gather and get a real family-style Italian meal. Don't be confused; sometimes the simpler the food the better. Manga!
