Don't expect to see great art
by AnthonyAnthony
The great art pieces which attracted me and thousands of visitors over many decades are no longer on display. No more Renoir, Van Gogh, Modgliani, Cezanne, Matisse, Picasso, Monet, Degas, or the many fascinating ancient works once so magnificantly on display. You may now enjoy viewing a huge canvas with a large dot in the middle and other similar works of "art". The Gallery's annual report is telling in its omission of attendance numbers, which I'd guess have plummeted since the misguided changes made by the current management. I truly loved the old Albright Knox, visiting several times a year. The new one, supposedly more in keeping with their mission, is a monumental disappointment, and one which I have little desire to visit. Shame on them.
- Pros: A beautiful building on a great street in a wonderful city
- Cons: great art pieces are gone!
MEDIOCRE FOOD AND DISAPPOINTING SERVICE FROM MANAGEMENT AT MUSE
by ZAKARED
I live in New York and love to frequent the Albright Knox Art Gallery when I visit Buffalo. I used to love the restaurant in this gallery, but since new owners took over, Brunch is no longer the delicious smorgasbord of items like poached salmon, mini waffles, etc. The menu is a la carte, which would be fine if the food were flavorful, but my guests and I found the entire experience disappointing. Additionally, we were charged for something that we did not receive and it has been a challenge getting the charges reversed. As customers, we felt unappreciated and ignored. It is very unfortunate that I have nothing kind to say about Muse or its management team, especially since the Albright Knox Art Gallery is one of my favorite places.
- Pros: ALBRIGHT KNOX ART GALLERY
- Cons: MUSE, THE RESTAURANT IN THE ALBRIGHT KNOX ART GALLERY
Buffalo's best-known art museum holds a world-class collection of Impressionist, post-Impressionist and 20th-century paintings.

The Scene
The Albright-Knox Art Gallery holds one of the best collections of 19th- and 20th-century European art in the world. The museum is divided into two wings. One is an imposing Greek revival structure, and the other is a modern glass building. In the summer, the Albright-Knox hosts a popular jazz festival on the grand marble steps overlooking Delaware Park and Hoyt Lake.
The Collection
Though the Albright-Knox is home to pieces from almost every period, it's the depth of the Impressionist and post-Impressionist collection that keep art lovers coming back. Cezanne, Degas, Van Gogh and Monet are all here, along with 20th century giants Picasso, Matisse, Pollock, Lichtenstein and Warhol. In addition to its stunning permanent collection, the gallery also hosts special exhibits like recent Tissot and Monet shows. Both broke attendance records. An upscale cafe and the excellent gift shop enhance your visit.
Priceless, rare art - in Buffalo!

The Albright-Knox art gallery is home to some of the world's most famous paintings, from Renoir to Warhol. They get excellent special exhibits, too, such as Monet and Modigliani.
- Pros: Permanent collection, Great special exhibit

This is a wonderful art museum holding several famous works of art. You have a mix of old fashion pieces with new modern sculptures. They feature special exhibits throughout the year and as soon as one is finished then they start another. It's a happenin' place to be. They have a nice restaurant too because you don't want other people to hear your stomach growel down the quiet corridors.
