Poor quality
by foodcritic11 at Citysearch
Recently ate here for the first and last time. The decor has all the charm of a soup kitchen, and I'd guess the food quality is similar. The salad bar is laughable, they obviously haven't put a dime back into this place. Frequented by very old people who probably don't know much better. I implore you, don't make a mistake by going here, it's very expensive considering the very poor quality.

Never Again

My wife and I recently had a better than mediocre meal at the Scotch N Sirloin, although you can definitly do better elsewhere both on price and quality.
What torqued me off is this: the two times we have been there this year we were overcharged for items we never ordered or received. Both times! Each overcharge was $7.00 to $8.00. Just small enough to hopefully not be noticed but large enough to add up to some serious dough if done consistantly to numerous customers.
We eat out several times a week in lots of places and have encountered this little "mistake" a few times before.
Never once has the mistake been in our favor (undercharged) Always the error favors the house.
Coincidence?? I really suspect not.
When I brought this to the manager's attention he was apologetic and seemed truly concerned.
However, we don't need this kind of issue when trying to have a relaxing night out. With so many other excellent restaurants to choose from in the area we will skip the Scotch N Sirloin for forever with no tears shed.
Disappointment All Around

Seated 75 minutes after being told the wait was 30 - 45 minutes. The service was dismal. Obvious signs that we wanted something (closed menu, arms crossed, the look of Hey!! Over here!) seemed lost on the waitress. We had to ask for everything and all requests required a wait. Steaks were mediocre. Pricey for what we got. Undercooked to start. Then re-cooked to black on the outside and still undercooked inside. Service was lacking overall. Gross misjudgment by the hostess. Waitress overloaded with 2 large groups plus 4 5 additional tables- she never had a chance. The restaurant seems uncertain as to what it wants to be. Blue-jean oriented in the bar, with peanut shells on the floor, but pricing that causes one to choke. Do one or the other, but not both. Its not working. Hire more wait staff help and a hostess who can estimate time.
- Pros: We finally got food
- Cons: Service, Noise, General Apathy
Good, but not #1

This is a good restaurant, the service can be cold and not very helpful. The salad bar is fresh but ordinary, and boring. Last time we were there we were crushed between the wall and a large, very loud party of 15.
The steaks are good but the last 2 times I had to send mine back because of the doneness being wrong.
- Pros: good parking, average prices, quick seating
- Cons: , salad bar, crowded seating

The Scotch n Sirloin is a consistently excellent meal. The casual atmosphere and superb food make it a restaurant my husband and I go to a few times a month. Highly recommend!

Since 1969, this lounge and steakhouse has served reasonably-priced steaks and seafood in a casual setting.
good!

This was our second time here, and we weren't disappointed! Our server lacked personality skills, but the food was great. A friend of mine from work also recently informed me that their Happy Hour is awesome (FREE wings & great deals).
- Pros: Good food, parking, location
- Cons: service
MMM, beef

Scotch has the best steak I have ever tasted! It is tender and can be torn apart with just your fork. The atmosphere adds to the genuinely delightful meal.
